Family Session

Many congratulations on the arrival on your new baby and thankyou for choosing me to capture the purity and essence of your newborn. It is my aim to give you a beautiful photographic experience together with precious images for you to treasure for a lifetime.
My home studio is based in Kew in the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne.

What to expect

All of my sessions are scheduled for the morning at 9.30am. It is best to feed your baby before you leave home, so we can proceed as soon as you arrive.

Photographing newborns is a complicated skill. For me it is a priviledge to work with these tiny infants, but one has to comprehend just how vulnerable they are in the early days of their lives.

When I am posing your new baby which can only be achieved when he/she is in a deep sleep it is necessary to move their arms, legs and head. During this process your baby is supported at all times. The poses are baby led, and if your baby is not comfortable then we simply move on. Not all poses suit all babies.

Your session will take between 2-4 hours, which allows me to get your baby into that magical deep sleep and it also allows for feeding breaks.
It is advisable to bring a dummy/pacifier to the session. It may not be required, but similarly it can be the magical ingredient to a deep slumber.

Family shots are an important part of the session, and here I aim to capture the beautiful connection between you as parents and your new

Preferably skin on skin is best, but if dad is not comfortable with going shirtless then I recommend a snug fitting t shirt in a neutral colour and jeans. It is best to remove jewellery for example watches.

I know most mums are not feeling fantastic physically just after having a baby, but if you allow yourself to be guided and with the right lighting and posing I can make you look fabulous.

A loose fitting tank is ideal, so we can slip the straps down and tuck them under your arms. Keep the colours neutral with no designs. It is best to remove jewellery for example watches and bracelets and remove nail polish.

It is best to talk to your younger children and explain that they will be having photos taken of them and their new brother/sister

A pair of jeans and shirtless is best, otherwise a snug fitting plain white t shirt is also fine.

I can provide a wrap which can act as the perfect top, or else a neutral tank top with no designs is also fine. I prefer hair to be natural with no headbands or bows and again avoid nail polish.
